Mira Feticu (Breaza, 1973) made her writing debut in Romania in 1993 with a collection of poems, but then focused on writing stories. In her native country she worked as a radio producer and publicist. She interviewed Herta Müller for the radio when hardly anyone was interested in the soon-to-be Nobel Prize winner. Her marriage brought Mira Feticu to the Netherlands, where she started writing in Dutch after a struggle with the country and language. Her third Dutch novel, Tascha: Tascha: De roof uit de Kunsthal, was published in 2015. A Romanian translation also appeared in 2016. At the end of 2018, the existence of the novel was seized upon by two Belgian theatremakers for a ‘stunt’ that led to Picassogate. On 8 February 2019, Feticu’s latest novel, Al mijn vaders, was published.
